05 March 2009 - MVP Systems Software, Inc., the leading provider of batch job scheduling software, announced the availability of the free JAMS Monitor. JAMS Monitor is designed specifically to eliminate the time-consuming and tedious administrative task of looking at each individual server to assess the status of running jobs in Windows Task Scheduler and SQL Server.
JAMS Monitor is the freeware version of JAMS, MVP’s leading batch job scheduling system. JAMS Monitor offers a ‘Convert to JAMS’ function for sites that need more robust and flexible scheduling capabilities, like job and file dependency support, cross-platform scheduling, etc. Using the ‘Convert to JAMS’ function, all Window Task Scheduler and SQL Server jobs are automatically converted into JAMS jobs to save organizations the time and resources of manually moving jobs from one system to another.
Some of the highlights of the free JAMS Monitor are:
- JAMS Monitor enables organizations to streamline job management, reducing job failure rates and administrative overhead while increasing performance and productivity.
- Users can view and manage Windows Task Scheduler and SQL Server jobs across multiple servers from one centralized console.
- Users can easily view TaskScheduler and SQL processes to see which jobs are running successfully, which jobs have failed, which jobs have stalled, etc.
- 'Convert to JAMS' function that moves all of your existing processes into JAMS so that you benefit from file and job dependency triggers, event-based scheduling, alerting, etc.
"We are doing what we can to lighten the workload of IT Managers. In today’s economic climate where people need to do more with less, a product like JAMS Monitor gives IT Managers a very nice addition to their toolbox," states John Vottero, VP of Development at MVP. "Using JAMS Monitor, you can see instantly all of your existing processes running through Windows Task Scheduler and SQL Server."
